Towards More Life |
There are many ways that the word "life" is used.
Often, people talk about bad things which people have done to each other, and then add a tag: "But that's just life."
The word "just" is not a meaningless placeholder of a word. It can have two meanings in such a sentence. It either means "only" or "simply"...or it means "right" and "good", as in "justice", and "justification".
But according to an extremely important voice, it is not "just life" when a neighbor does evil against another neighbor, in wartime or in peacetime. This voice does not have one set of truths for warriors and and other set for others: even though many efforts are made to excuse people who do evil to whoever their neighbors happen to be, this voice does not call it "just". And this voice also does not call it "life".
This voice does not call it "life" when any man or woman does evil. This voice calls it something else. This voice, calls it "death". This voice is Jesus Christ.
But He came to give good news. The good news is, even though what is commonly called "just life" is actually hellborne death, there is an alternative. If we talk to Him, and ask for life, if we ask Him to be taken from hellborne death to a life which is good and truly just, He will do it.
There is a life which is truly just, and truly life. Talk to God, and ask for true life that is not death; He will take you there.
It is much better.
